March 9th, 2025 – Joes Milford Run, the 3rd Edition.
24 Runners. Scott returning for the third year. Richard joining with 36hrs notice.
Two travelling from the North Island. One from Dublin, Ireland!
Burgers and a drink together the night before.
Two buses. Five boats. Drop bags ready.
A 7am start. 5:30am if you count the drive out.
54km of Milford Track – plus all of the side tracks and trail to the majestic Sutherland Falls.
An absolute bluebird day. 360 degree views at the summit and on Mackinnon Pass and not a drop of rain. A belter of a track. A truly iconic and special corner of the world.
For the second year in a row, we took the reins and coordinated a group to share the logistics of running the Milford Track in a single day. Making some adjustments and improvements on the year before, and introducing a couple of new surprises for the runners.

Thank you too to Fiordland Outdoors for their role in helping to coordinate and transport the group onto the track at dawn, and the charter boats at the end of the day. One word. EPIC!
Grateful to be able to join the third boat across to Sandfly Point on the Milford Track. With the final four runners, plus Lee, and our friends Sacha and Stephen (who drove the buses – thanks team!). It was amazing to be able to send the tail of the group off on their way. Then it was back to Milford and Te Anau to wait out the day. The first returning boat expected to arrive to Te Anau Downs at 6pm.
A massive congratulations to everyone on this crew for completing the Milford Track.
All runners finished, on time for their boats, and got back home safely. Well done legends!
